Panorama assembly in Photoshop consists of Auto Align Layers and Auto Blend Layers. The task uses CPU cores minimally, so the speed reflects the efficiency of a single CPU core.

Consists of: Auto Align Layers, Auto Blend Layers, Flatten Image, Image Size to 75%

Panorama assembly is largely single-threaded, meaning that only one (1) CPU is used, with brief spurts to two CPUs. GPU might also be involved but how much is unclear.

The Mac Pro M2 Ultra easily outperforms. This doesn't make sense unless the GPU is involved somehow even though GPU usage does not show up in Activity Monitor (yes, that's a thing).

But using PTGui, the M3 Max wins out—same task but different software, showing that software is everything when it comes to performance.
