Disk I/O is not a significant factor, the files being small relative to the workload, and on the fast internal SSD.

The 2022 MacBook Pro M2 Max easily beats even the 28-core 2019 Mac Pro, and leaves the 2019 iMac 5K far behind... amazing performance!

The M1 Max takes 23% longer than the M2 Max.

NOTE: Adobe has improved raw file conversion considerably since early 2022 when these tests were run. Speed likely substantially higher for all machines with Photoshop CC 2022 v23.4.1 or later.
