This test builds a Java app, compiling over 600 Java source files into several jar files. It is not a long-running task, but when invoking it 100 times in a day during development, it sure is nice to have the build process take 3-4 seconds instead of 6-7 seconds.

Results

Here, the 24 CPU cores of the M2 Ultra do not improve speed over the 12 cores of the M2 Max. Probably the job is too small to effectively make use of the extra cores.
