The 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max dusts the Intel-based Macs.

The 2019 Mac Pro offers up a pathetic performance. From what I can tell in Activity Monitor, Photoshop puts all 28 CPU cores to use, but many cores are not doing much, and there seems to be massive system-call overhead, which at first appeared to be thread contention overhead. But that theory falls by the wayside, because disabling CPU cores does not change anything.
