MPG tested the Apple 16.2" MacBook Pro with M1 Max Chip Z14X000HR, a maxed-out model in all ways except 4TB SSD instead of the maximum 8TB SSD.

Batch convert raw files to JPEG using Iridient Developer, which is a relatively slow raw converter, though this test also turned on noise reduction, which increases run time.
Disk I/O speed is not a factor, the files being on a fast SSD and I/O time being trivial.

The 28 CPU cores of the 2019 Mac Pro beat the 10 cores of the MBP. But many Mac Pros have only 8/10/12/16 CPU cores. On those models, the MBP would rival or beat them!
The 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max leaves the 2019 iMac 5K in the dust. WOW!
