MPG tested the Apple 16.2" MacBook Pro with M1 Max Chip Z14X000HR, a maxed-out model in all ways except 4TB SSD instead of the maximum 8TB SSD.

This test is a real-world task relevant to Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom: batch convert raw files to JPEG.
Disk I/O is not a significant factor, the files being small relative to the workload, and on the fast internal SSD.

Raw file conversion to JPEG — 150-megapixel PhaseOne IQ4 raw
CPU cores rock on the 28-core 2019 Mac Pro, helping it to a solid win.
But the 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max destroys the 2019 iMac 5K and 2020 iMac 5K... amazing performance!
NOTE: Adobe has improved raw file conversion considerably since early 2022 when these tests were run. Speed likely substantially higher for all machines with Photoshop CC 2022 v23.4.1 or later.
