Finder Silently Fails to Copy Files
Status 2013-01-19: extant in OS X 10.8.2
No screen shot to show here (have to wait for the next failure).
A file copy to a network drive (local gigabit ethernet) silently skips files, leaving large chunks uncopied. There is no error reported. Observed repeatedly. Generally occurs when doing a 'replace' on existing large folder.
Status with local copies seems to be OK, but should make anyone uneasy.
Critical data — workaround and verification
Use diglloydTools IntegrityChecker for critical data; it reports changed and missing and/or corrupted files.
