re: TESTED, OMG: OWC Express 1M2 USB4 SSD Trounces the Fastest Thunderbolt 3 SSD
Test results are one thing, but what about real-world usage?
In real-world usage, most usage is reading, since large files like images and video are usually written once and only once. Small files... don’t matter much, being small.
BTW, you are following best practices for data integrity, right?

RAID-0 performance
Write speed suffers after ~2.4TB (1.2TB per SSD) from the limitations of the 4TB unit as discussed. However, at its worst, the write speed is about 2.4X faster than the fastest USB-C SSD!
A pair of striped 8TB OWC Express 1M2 should be able to sustain 5.6 GB/sec and read speed should hit ~7GB/sec. WOW!
As for data integrity checking with IntegrityChecker Java, 6336 MiB/sec = 6644 MB/sec is faster than the PCIe SSD in my Mac Pro!

Not bad: over 5.3 GB/sec write and 6.2 GB/sec read!
