Successful update of firmware in OWC Thunderbay 4

I’d been having terrible disconnect issues for most of a year with Thunderbolt 3 for some time now—sleep for sure but also random disconnects. I was pretty sure this was an Apple bug, and that assumption apparently was correct—the OWC Thunderbay 4 and Thunderbay 6 firmware updates made the problem go away—I’m told the issue is not specific to OWC products.

I have not had any disconnects in about six weeks now (I tested a pre-release version), whereas before I was seeing the problem every other day or so.

Today I ran the release updater and all went well. Be sure to follow the directions carefully, and backup first just in case.
