iTunes: Infinite Loop Trying to Install an App

Here is todays experience, which I deem “The Real Apple Experience”.

The idea of an Apple self driving car should be terrifying to passengers and pedestrians and other drivers.

Challenge: install on AppStore app on an iPhone. I wanted a certain app I did not yet have, for mapping a cycling route.

I admit defeat.

First I was informed that the computer was not authorized. I 'get' that—I complied and authorized the computer.

Then I tried to sync. But iTunes says the computer is not authorized:

So I authorized again (and again) and (rebooted, then authorized again). Each time, iTunes posts the dialog shown above, and each time I authorize, it says the computer is already authorized. Each time I try to sync, it says the computer is NOT authorized.

A growing list of bugs is a hallmark of Apple these days, which I term Apple Core Rot.
