MPG has recommended the OWC Thunderbay 4 for a long time, and utilizes five of them.

Now the very same configuration used by MPG is available as an even better deal: OWC 20TB Thunderbay 4 RAID-5 Edition with spare 5TB hard drive (five drives total, four in the TB4, one spare). The TB4 with 5TB drives is the “sweet spot” for price/performance.

That included spare hard drive is a cold spare, which MPG strongly recommends for RAID-5 users. Or it could be put to other uses until and unless it is needed to replace a failed drive.
