The Mac Studio M1 Ultra (purple) delivers the fastest results in most casee, but little faster than the 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max*.

Note that 2X the CPU and GPU cores do next to nothing for speed on Photoshop filters shown here. Future potential software improvements are possible, but not very likely here in late June 2022. As per Adobe engineering, Jan 2022:

Everything written in OpenCL is being rewritten for Metal on macOS this year. OpenCL and OpenGL are dead. I believe SmartSharpen is at the top of the list to move to Metal off of OpenCL.

With OpenCL still offered in the preferences, maybe there is still work to do?
