Real World Shootout: diglloydHuge Photoshop Benchmark
Related: 2015 MacBook Pro, laptop, MacBook, MacBook Pro, Macs, memory, Photoshop, SSD, video

Authorized Apple dealer B&H Photo loaned MPG the Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Retina (Mid 2015), 2.8GHz / Radeon R9 M370X / 16GB / 1TB, the configuration MPG recommends for power users, photographers, videographers, etc. Save money on AppleCare too.
The diglloydHuge Photoshop benchmark requires about 56GB of memory to run unfettered. Thus runing it on a Mac with 16GB of memory severely taxes the virtual memory system which relies on the boot drive (the internal SSD) for swapping.
While not as huge a gain as the IntegrityChecker verify real world test, the 2015 MacBook pro cuts the time in half as compared to the 2013 MacBook Pro. That’s a huge real-world performance boost.
Photoshop Performance Preferences at Memory Usage = 70%, Graphics Processor = Advanced, History=30/Cache Levels=4/Tile size = 1024K.
