Wiping Personal Data Off a Mac that is Being Returned or Sold

What software/process do you use to wipe all personal data off a Mac that is being returned, if any?
MPG: if booting off another drive and completely destroying everything on the drive is the goal, Disk Utility can do that.
Most of the time, I use my own software (DiglloydTools), specifically the wipeFree command (twice for SSDs assuming 80% or more of the SSD is free) and wipe command in diglloydTools 'dgl'.
