MacBook Pro 15" vs MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display

Thanks to OWC, I’ve now had a chance to compare the new 15" MacBook Pro 2.7 GHz (with hi-res anti-glare screen) to the Macbook Pro with Retina Display.

I’ve posted my findings in my review of the June 2012 15" MacBook Pro.

Read my review of the June 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

Both machines had a 2.7 GHz CPU option, so the direction comparison was on level ground. The results show that the regular 15" model is no less fast than the Retina model, though the higher-res screen of the Retina model appears to make Photoshop take a very small performance hit.

Test results from the June 2012 15" Macbook Pro.
