Buying advice
Nothing can be upgraded after purchase with the 2016 MacBook Pro touchbar models: the SSD and CPU and GPU and memory are all soldered on and not replaceable or upgradeable*. The crucial items are memory and SSD, so MPG strongly advises not skimping in those areas: 16GB memory and 1TB or 2TB SSDS.
* The starter models without the touchbar have a socketed SSD.
Configuration
The MadBook Pro might be what it is called given the cost for this configuration, below.
But given Thunderbolt 3 and the need for MPG to test all sorts of products plus Lloyd’s photographic storage needs in the field that make a 512GB flash drive tight and 1TB maybe not enough in the next few years, it seemed unwise to make the same mistake as with the late 2013 MacBook Pro, which was was ordered with a too-small SSD.
