Reader Question: Updating the Boot Drive

You helped me greatly a couple of years ago in getting my Mac Pro up and running.
Now I would like to replace the Crucial 128 GB SSD with a larger capacity SSD. This is my boot drive.
Could you provide me with step-by-step instructions on how to accomplish this? That is - copying everything currently on the 128 SSD onto a new, larger, SSD.
MPG: The procedure is cloning, and I document the switch-over in How to upgrade your system/boot drive. As part of cloning the system volume, you can choose to create a recovery partition (or not). I recommend creating one (Carbon Copy Cloner will offer to do so as part of the cloning process).
Choice of SSD— my recommendation especially in this case is to go with the awesomely fast Mercury Accelsior PCIe SSD. Make the conversion, then optionally (later) swap out that aging Crucial 128GB SSD for a 240GB Mercury Extreme Pro 6G SSD. If both are not needed, then just go with the Accelsior.
