Apple Now Uses Sandforce SSDs in MacBook Air
According to OWC, Apple is now using Sandforce-based SSDs in the latest MacBook Air:
Apple is now using Sandforce based SSDs in their MacBook Air 2012s.
A nod to the right choice being that processor… especially as NAND geometries shift to higher density/smaller die with lower PE. Write Amp going to be very important. VERY. Already is and Sandforce worst case at under 3X and better than best case real-world for others which can go up to 20X write amp.
I’ve been using OWC SSDs for several years now intensively in my photography work. They perform great and have been very reliable for me. Currently I work daily on dual Accelsior PCIe SSD RAID-0 stripe, but I also have a 3-drive stripe of Mercurcy Extreme Pro 6G SSDs for other storage also.
