Apple Developer Site Breach

I don’t like to get this sort of email, but I give credit to Apple here for several reasons:

1. Notifying developers of the breach.
2. Having the sense to encrypt sensitive information (assuming it is true!).
3. Taking the site down to forestall further compromise.

Then again, maybe my estimation of Apple was higher than it should have been.

These sorts of things are one of those risks we all face using so many web sites. Somehow I doubt that most companies are up to the task.
