Save Big Photoshop Files 16X Faster! Adobe Releases DisallowFlateCompressedPSD.plugin for Photoshop CS5

It’s not every day a goodie comes along that speeds up a crucial task (saving) by a factor of 16! Or even 20X faster.

Over the past year, the Adobe team listened to my suggestion on save-speed, and I want to thank them for making the DisallowFlateCompressedPSD.plugin available as of today. It works— incredibly well, as the graph below shows.

For big files in Photoshop CS5, the DisallowFlateCompressedPSD.plugin is a must-have. Read my report and see the download link.

Note: single-layer PSD or PSB files are NOT compressed by Photoshop, and thus save quickly by default. It is multi-layer files that are at issue.
