Opening Up An OCZ Vertex 2 SSD

See my March 18 entry on Do OCZ Solid State Drives Contain Tier 2 Flash Memory?.

I ordered a 120GB OCZ Vertex 2 from Amazon.com to see if I would get a drive with lower quality parts.

These are Intel 34nm Tier 1 flash memory chips. This is the previous generation design (not the new 25nm version). Capacity is 120.03GB in Disk Utility. So OCZ has delivered what one would want with the sample I purchased.
