User Delighted with Photoshop CS5 Optimization

Before and after with the wrong vs right settings can be dramatic, though I make no claim of as dramatic a speedup as this user enjoyed. Probably an upgrade to 6GB would be a great idea in this case(or 8GB if his model supports it), and for another nice boost, a quality solid state drive like the OWC Mercury Pro.

I am a professional photographer. I own a macbook pro 13" 2.4ghz with 4gig ram and I run Ps CS5 and Lr 3. I stay very busy and post processing takes up much of my time. I recently learned that I could do multiple batch actions from bridge. Great, I think, this will save me a bunch of time. WRONG! I selected 12 photos and did one action on them and I swear the thing took 20 minutes to do them all.

I started looking for a new computer, this is how I make money, I need the best, I'm thinking to myself. I come across your website and long story short, I change the recommended settings on CS5 like you suggest, and it took that 20min operation down to about 15 seconds. I only wish you had advice for optimizing LR 3 now!
