Bibble Pro Speed With a RAM Disk
See the tests of Bibble Pro on the 2010 Mac Pro.
Due to a bug in Bibble Pro (massive log-file overflow “TmMangler Task: ba3d4c60 - 9StackTile returned 4242”), I was not able to test using a RAM disk with the 6-core Mac Pro. For whatever reason, it worked fine on the 12-core Mac Pro.
This graph shows that I/O speed is a critical factor with a well-written program like BibblePro. A RAM disk can do several gigabytes per second, with the triple and dual SSD RAID-0 stripes also peforming well (no hard drive results are shown here).
